About Dechurchified Praise: Dance Ministry

Purpose
The Dance Ministry uses movement to tell the story of God’s love, justice, and power. We dance to worship, testify, and make room for healing and joy. Open to all levels and backgrounds, this ministry welcomes those with a heart to serve through movement. Whether trained or just starting, we move together—as one body, led by the Spirit.

Ministry Goals
  • Create space for worship through dance and expressive movement
  • Make the presence of God visible through intentional choreography and artistic ministry
  • Welcome dancers of all levels to grow in skill, confidence, and spiritual connection
  • Partner with Worship & Arts to support the flow of monthly and special services

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Attend weekly rehearsals on Fridays at 5:00 PM to learn and refine choreography
  • Minister through dance during Sunday service (typically the last Sunday of each month)
  • Be open to dancing at special services, events, or collaborations (e.g., Easter, Christmas, etc.)
  • Come to rehearsals ready to move
  • Maintain a posture of unity, humility, and purpose—remember, this isn’t performance, it’s praise
  • Collaborate with Pastors & Worship Leaders to align movement with music and message
